The BSB garners its race performance from a slew of Niner-specific technology. The frame is a product of RDO Carbon Compaction, a technology utilizing rigid internal molds for tighter, more consistent compacted carbon layers. The BSB 9 RDO rides and feels like a proper cyclocross bike should, designed with a steep headtube angle for fast handling, a size and crank length-specific bottom bracket height for cornering, and short chainstays (425mm) for technical maneuvers. A frame designed to race is surely going to get punished – need not worry as our robust R&D program and hours of ride testing leave us confident that the BSB 9 is going to exceed your expectations. Our C5 warranty (five year) is our commitment to you.

The frame is paired with our award winning RDO cyclocross fork, which provides the off-road ride quality riders want in their race bike. The frameset uses a Maxle front and 142mm x 12mm rear dropout – coupled with disc-brake only compatibility, frame weight stays low and lateral rigidity and steering precision remain high.

Cyclocross-specific design elements are found throughout the BSB 9 RDO. Cyclocross demands ergonomic frame shapes – the bike must be easy to lift, carry and shoulder. Riders will find friendly flats, comfortable shoulder positioning and thoughtful placement of cables to aid in the best barrier technique. The front triangle is free of cable guides – external rear brake routing on the side of the downtube keeps everything out of the way when shouldering. Full length housing is used for clean, crisp shifting. Internal routing with large access windows makes for easy maintenance and simple Di2 routing. A post mount rear brake helps to prevent heel strikes. All frame sizes accommodate two water bottle mounts. A 27.2mm seatpost diameter provides just the right amount of vertical compliance.

Aesthetics were influenced by the race demands of the BSB 9 RDO. 40-50 grams were saved by paring down the paint to a minimum. Decals are ultra thin and concealed with a satin clear coat for protection.
