Because of the larger welding area created by the new tapered headtube, this updated version of our alloy hardtail integrates hydroformed tubing throughout. More than a cosmetic feature, hydroforming allows us to shape tubes, control wall thickness and optimize strength and stiffness in key areas. This customization creates perfectly tuned frames with precise ride characteristics – in other words, ideal ride feel. You will find hydroforming in the toptube, downtube, headtube, chainstays and seatstays.

Bottom line? A lighter, stiffer frame with better ride feel and improved steering results in better power transfer and an overall efficiency improvement. In other words, the updated Air 9 will win more races.

Das AIR 9 ist unser leichtes Racing Hardtail aus High-Performance Aluminiumlegierungen. Mit der gleichen preisgekrönten Hardtail-Geometrie wie die übrige Air 9 Familie ist das Air 9 die richtige Wahl für jeden, der einen High-Performance Aluminium-Rahmen sucht.

HYDROFORMING
Die neue Version besitzt modernste Hydroform-Rahmenteile, die nicht nur optisch sehr reizvoll sind, sondern auch ein deutlich höheres Leistungspotenzial als konventionelle Rohre aufweisen. Das sogenannte Hydroforming erlaubt die detaillierte Anpassung einzelner Rahmensektionen zur Optimierung der Stabilität und Steifigkeit. So können die Rahmen präzise abgestimmt werden, um die gewünschten Stabilitätswerte und Fahrcharakteristika zu erreichen. Die Hydroform-Technologie wird beim Oberrohr, dem Unterrohr, dem Steuerrohr sowie für die Ketten- und Sattelstreben verwendet.

Das Resultat ist ein leichterer, steiferer 29er Rahmen mit einem besseren Fahrgefühl und höherer Lenkpräzision. Weiterhin führt dieses Design zu einer besseren Kraftübertragung und generellen Steigerung der Effizienz. In anderen Worten, das neue Air 9 ist noch schneller als zuvor.

KONISCHES STEUERROHR
Das Air 9 hat ein konisches Steuerrohr mit integrierten Steuersatzlagerschalen. Die größere Oberfläche des konischen Steuerrohrs erlaubt ein überdimensioniertes Unterrohr, was die Steifigkeit und Stabilität an dieser kritischen Verbindungsstelle deutlich erhöht. Zudem reduzieren konische Steuerrohre die Verdrehung der Gabel messbar, welches den Geradeauslauf und das gesamte Handling des Air 9 Bikes verbessert. Von diesen Eigenschaften profitieren alle, die das Air 9 bei XC-, Single-Speed- oder All-Mountain-Einsätzen verwenden.

PRESS-FIT 30 INNENLAGER
Es gibt mehrere Tretlagerstandards, aber für unser reinrassiges Racebike, haben wir uns für das Press-Fit-30 System (PF30) entschieden. Der PF30 Standard ist mit jeder BB30 Kurbelgarnitur kompatibel, und die Installation der Lagerschalen gestaltet sich erfreulich einfach. Die Oversized- Achse der Kurbel ist leicht und widersteht auch den kräftigsten Tritten der stärksten Ninerds. Die großen Lager laufen extrem leicht und sind um vieles langlebiger als bei anderen Innenlagertypen. Die Schalen des verstärkten Kunststoffgehäuses des PF30 Innenlagersystems benötigen keinen Aluminiumtretlagereinsatz, was eine minimalistische Carbon-Konstruktion zulässt. Zur Verwendung von Shimano Hollowtech Kurbeln mit anderen Achsdurchmessern stehen sehr leichte Spezialadapter zur Verfügung.

Con il resto della famiglia AIR 9, condivide l’acclamata geometria specifica per hardtail – la Air 9 è la scelta definitiva per tutti coloro i quali cercano un performante telaio in lega.

TUBAZIONI IDROFORMATE
Grazie alla maggior area di saldatura offerta dal nuovo tubo sterzo di tipo conico, siamo in grado di impiegare l’idroformatura per ogni singolo tubo che compone questa hardtail. Non si tratta di un mero vezzo estetico, in quanto con l’idroformatura siamo in grado di controllare forma e spessori delle tubazioni, al fine di ottenere l’ottimale resistenza e rigidità nei punti chiave del telaio. Queste manipolazioni creano telai con precise caratteristiche di guida – detto in altri termini: il piacere di guida. Nel nostro telaio l’idroformatura si può trovare sul tubo orizzontale, su quello obliquo, su quello verticale, su quello sterzo, sui foderi alti e bassi.

E quindi? Un telaio leggero, rigido, con migliori caratteristiche di guida e con uno sterzo più preciso; il tutto per avere un migliore trasferimento di potenza e una migliore efficienza di pedalata in generale. Detto in soldoni: la nuova Air 9 vincerà ancora più gare.

TUBO STERZO CONICO
La Air 9 è dotata di tubo sterzo conico e serie sterzo integrata. I benefici di un tubo sterzo conificato non si fanno sentire solo sulle biciclette a lunga escursione. La maggiore superficie di un tubo sterzo conificato permette l’utilizzo di un tubo obliquo di maggiori dimensioni, il che incrementa la rigidità e la resistenza nel punto di contatto fra questi due tubi. Utilizzando forcelle con cannotto conico, siamo in grado di ottenere la massima rigidità dell’avantreno. Tutti i riders, dagli amanti del XC, a coloro che amano l’all mountain, traggono beneficio da questi accorgimenti; ecco perché tali soluzioni le abbiamo incorporate su tutti i nostri modelli. La Air 9 ti permette di ottenere il massimo dalla precisione di guida quando si affrontano le curve e ci si proietta verso la linea del traguardo.

MOVIMENTO CENTRALE PF30
Per quanto concerne i movimenti centrali, ci sono diversi standard fra cui scegliere – per il nostro mezzo multirapporto dedicato alle competizioni abbiamo scelto il PF30. Tale movimento è compatibile con qualunque guarnitura con standard BB30 e le calotte sono molto facili da installare. Il perno della guarnitura, da ben 30mm, è leggero e resiste alle poderose pedalate di qualunque Ninerds. I cuscinetti maggiorati ruotano senza impuntamenti ed hanno una lunga longevità.

GEOMETRIA NINER DA HARDTAIL
Come più volte ribadito da numerose riviste, la geometria delle hardtail Niner è decisamente azzeccata. Sia in salita, che in discesa, la geometria della Air 9 regala grande precisione di guida e ottimo posizionamento in sella.
