FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

NINER BIKES IS GIVING BACK AND THEY NEED YOUR HELP

Los Angeles, CA. Niner Bikes announced plans today to give back to the industry and other charities they believe in. Niner will paint 25 frames and matching forks with a very special theme and will sell these very limited edition frames and forks to raise money for the charity of their choice. Their first charity will be IMBA, who has been an amazing ambassador to mountain biking throughout the world. The International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) was formed in 1988 to help educate both riders, trail workers, and law makers on the impact of bikes and land management. Their goal is to promote responsible riding and trail building while stimulating understanding with other user groups.

“For us, IMBA was the obvious first choice for this project” says Niner co-founder Chris Sugai, “they are the voice of our sport and do an amazing job getting out there to save and build sustainable trails. Their core values represent what Niner is all about.”

Steve Domahidy, Niner’s other founder, is elated about the possibilities of this program “We think IMBA is a fantastic organization and we’ve built Niner to the point where we think it’s time to give back. We look forward to doing these limited edition paint schemes for other charities we’re passionate about.”

“We are really excited about this collaboration,” says Matt O’Connor, IMBA’s Development Coordinator. “This is a unique and cool way for a cycling company to support IMBA and trail stewardship while spreading the good word on the ground. We are psyched to see the finished product. These will be collector’s items.”

For IMBA, Niner will paint 25 M.C.R. 9 frames and matching Reynolds rigid forks with an “IMBA” themed paint job. What is an IMBA themed paint job? That’s where you come in. Niner is asking you, the riders, to submit what you think an IMBA themed paint job is. The possibilities are endless; the only rule is that somewhere, somehow, the IMBA logo be used in the paint scheme. To enter the contest, go to www.ninerbikes.com, read the rules and use the M.C.R. 9 frame and fork template to create an “IMBA” themed paint scheme. The winner will win one of the limited edition frame and fork combos and see their artwork painted onto 25 more frames. The winner will be announced on February 29th, 2008.

NINER “GIVING BACK” RULES AND GUIDELINES
(Back to Top of Page)

For this contest, Niner is asking you, the riders, to submit “themed” paint jobs for a fundraising event. Niner will be painting and selling 25 M.C.R. 9 frame and fork combos for charity. The frames and forks will be painted with a special “themed” paint job to go with the charity of choice. For this contest, the themed bikes will be for IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association). The rules are as follows:

1. The “themed” paint job must be submitted to info@ninerbikes.com using the downloadable template. Please see www.ninerbikes.com to get the template from us.

2. The “theme” is IMBA. Somewhere on the themed paint job, the IMBA logo must be used. It can be used in any way and in any size and doesn’t have to dominate the “theme”, it just has to be on the frame somewhere (and visible).

3. The NINER, M.C.R. 9, and PEDAL DAMN IT logo’s will be painted into the frame. Please make sure to either leave room for these or add them into your design. We’ve supplied a pdf document with these logos. If you include the Niner logos into your theme, they do not need to remain exactly as shown on the pdf. They can change shape, size, and color, as long as they stay within the same general confines of our design. We do not want a different “NINER” logo. The 9 must stay the same.

4. Niner, Pedal Damn It, and M.C.R. 9 logos are trademarks of Niner, Inc. and should only be used in connection with this contest. Any other use of these logos is strictly prohibited.

5. The paint job can be anything. We will be using SPECTRUM POWDER COATS to paint the frames. Be creative, show us what IMBA means to you.

6. The deadline for submissions is February 26, 2008 by MIDNIGHT Pacific Standard Time. Any submissions received after this will be disqualified.

7. The winner will be announced on February 29, 2008

8. Niner reserves the right to not use any of the submitted winners. If we don’t find one that we think works as the IMBA themed bike, we reserve the right to not use a submission as our final paint job.

9. The winner will receive one of the M.C.R. 9 frame and forks in the size of the winners choice for their artwork.

10. The winner will ONLY receive the above mentioned prize. No monies or other compensation will be awarded to the winner.

11. All submissions are property of Niner Bikes.

12. By entering this contest and submitting a “themed” paint job, you understand these rules and regulations.
