"Why don't you come with me little girl, on a magic carpet ride"
-Steppenwolf

The magic carpet ride of steel is now brought to you by Niner in a geared only version of our popular S.I.R. 9 frame, with the same amazing ride quality of our exclusive, custom drawn Reynolds 853 tubing.

So for those of you who will never ride a one speed bicycle, and still want the butter smooth ride of our S.I.R. 9 frame without the added weight and complication of the EBB, the M.C.R. 9 is your ticket. Built with the same custom drawn and butted Reynolds 853 tubeset as our S.I.R. 9, the M.C.R. 9 gives the same fantastic performance at an even slightly lighter weight.

Once again, attention to detail is everything with Niner, and the M.C.R. 9 has it all. For this geared only version, we re-adjusted the BB drop and chainstay length while re-designing our chainstay bends to insure proper mud and heel clearance for even the fattest of tires. In a similar fashion to our S.I.R. 9, the M.C.R. 9 maintains the changing diameter and wall thickness of the tubesets depending on size, which means that every size frame has a ride characteristic built specifically for the rider on board.

Making their first appearance on the M.C.R. 9, Niner re-designed the "Breezer" style drop outs to be even lighter than the previous versions. They are now cast, instead of CNC machined and have been carved out wherever possible to save even more weight.

Finishing touches are all there, including the Niner stainless steel head badge, faced head tube and BB, chased BB threads, internally butted BB and faced disc brake mount for a no-fuss build.

The M.C.R. 9 is the perfect all day epic, cross country machine that will give you the comfort of supple Reynolds 853 steel at a weight only slightly higher than most alloy frames.
