Niner bikes has designed the ultimate EBB. At only 110 grams, this EBB has been machined out everywhere it can be. Details include an internally butted EBB shell, and Titanium set screws located as far outboard on the EBB shell as possible to increase stability and clamping power. On the EBB itself, Niner took great care to remove as much material as possible without going crazy with the drill press, keeping water and dirt out. Channels on the EBB help center the EBB in the shell as well as keeping the interface between the shell and EBB free of set screw gouges. We looked at this EBB from every angle and created the lightest, most user friendly EBB on the planet.

It's important to note that the geometry spec's for the frame are based on the EBB being in the six o'clock position. This gives the BB a 70mm drop and creates a stable, lower center of gravity. The reason Niner went to a full 70mm drop is two fold. One, the likelihood of the BB being in exactly the six o'clock position is low. This means the effective BB drop will be somewhere less than 70mm but offer the user a full range of BB adjustability. With the BB in the twelve o'clock position, the effective BB drop will be 58mm, giving those that need the added ground clearance the ability to run the BB in the high position. Niner believes this is the best situation for any riding condition or rider preference.
