Niner Bikes Celebrates 20 Years of Off-Road Bike Innovation

FORT COLLINS, Colo., (March 13, 2025) – Niner Bikes, a pioneer in mountain biking, announced their 20th anniversary today. Niner is committed to the relentless pursuit of better riding experiences built around the 29-inch wheel, giving the brand its namesake. Niner launched in 2005 with the now retired ONE 9.

For 20 years, Niner Bikes has been defined by innovation of mountain and gravel bikes. Niner pioneered 29-inch mountain bikes when the category was just emerging, quickly becoming a leader in the premium enthusiast segment. Critics cried 29-inch bikes would be a fad, while Niner’s founders staked their claim that the wheel size was better, faster, and more fun. As the industry evolved, they expanded into gravel, once again setting the standard.

Over the years Niner developed several leading-edge concepts for mountain and gravel categories. Niner in-house engineers designed CVA, the first suspension system built around a 29-inch frame, BioCentric bottom brackets, industry-best rigid forks, and more. In 2008 Niner introduced the R.I.P 9, the brand’s first full suspension 29er, and brought the first full suspension gravel bicycle to the industry in 2019 with the MCR 9 RDO.

Niner Bikes currently offers mountain, gravel, and eMTB models, and is sold in over 40 countries. The brand has several new model releases planned over the next 3 years, continuing their legacy of pushing industry standards and creating bikes that make you want to Pedal, Damn It.
